In 2005 Andy started to build his now World renowned Street-Pro motorcycle that everyone has come to know.  He knew that the competition would be stiff, knowing that, Andy built his own cylinder heads from scratch!  He started with a big piece of wood that he machined into a model that he later had machined into aluminum.  The entire design was done by Andy himself, including the valve size, valve angles, spring rates, port sizes, port shapes, valve train geometry, and so on…  The combination was so successful that the records from 2006 speak for themselves.

In 2006, Andy Simon had the most dominating season in the history of the sport.  Andy won nearly every event on the schedule and was the # 1 qualifier, with the exception of Seattle where he broke a shifter in the final.  Midway through the season, his motor was inspected at almost every event!  Once again, Andy’s innovative technologies and hard work propelled him to the front of the class.

In 2007, Andy’s cylinder heads were outlawed from competition because they were “too good” and Andy was “too fast.”  Andy was told he could only use his cylinder heads for 3 more races before they would become outlawed.  Andy Simon got together with Mike Lozano “Lozano Bros. Porting” and came up with a new combination using the cylinder heads that most of the competition had been using.  So the question would be, “Can Andy be as fast as he was before?”  That question was answered by Andy when he came out with the new combination on September 22-23 at the S&S Cycle / Jim McClure Nationals in Richmond, Va., there he was the #1 qualifier and won the event!     Two weeks later in Rockingham, NC, he again was the #1 qualifier and won the event.  Mike Lozano was instrumental in getting Andy back on the race track again.

At the end of the 2007 racing season with only a hand full of races run, he was 2nd in the points championship.  Andy’s success did not go un-noticed as he was crowned the “2007 MAC Tools Pro-Wrench of the Year.”

Although there is a lot more testing and developmental work on the  new combination, the future is looking great for 2008!
